Jummas hold Peaceful Protest, Bangladesh High Commission, London
Jummas in the UK attended a peaceful protest outside the Bangladesh High Commission in London on Thursday 25th October 2007. The event was organised by Jumma Peoples Network UK, with supporters from Amnesty.
The main aim of the event was to highlight the problems facing Indigenous Peoples in the Chittagong Hill Tracts and Bangladesh.
Jumma representatives presented a memorandum to the Bangladesh High Commission voicing their concern over the current situation in the country with the State of Emergency, as well as recent moves to further undermine the CHT Peace Accords.
